Infectious Diseases

The diseases which spread due to pathogenic microbes like fungi, bacteria, viruses, parasites, etc.are called infectious diseases. These diseases are transferred from one person to another by direct or indirect means.

Modes of transmission-
1. Due to insects and animals
2. Air
3. Contaminated food
4. Sexual or non- sexual contacts
5. Water
Common symptoms that can be seen in an infected person generally are-
1. fever
2. muscle pain
3. cough
4. diarrhea
5. fatigue
Examples of such diseases include-
Tuberculosis, AIDS, influenza, common cold, etc.
